ESMP Session at Anchengre and Babadamgre Villages
On 8th September 2026, an Environmental and Social Management Plan (ESMP) session was conducted at Anchengre and Babadamgre villages under Rongram Block, led by the Implementation Consultant (IC) Team.
The session was attended by the SPMU Team, Ganol-CMU ACPM of Rongram Block, Social and Environment Teams, Field Engineers, UAV Team, members of the Babadamgre and Anchengre VPICs, as well as the respective landowners of the proposed project sites.
The session began with introductions, followed by a briefing on the village background and proposed project sites. The IC team interacted with VPIC members, VCFs, and landowners to understand the reasons for selecting the sites, the proposed interventions, and the number of households expected to benefit from the project.
As part of the practical ESMP exercise, field assessments were conducted at two locations:
Babadamgre Village: RCC Check Dam at Suja Stream
Anchengre Village: Stone Masonry Irrigation Canal at Nagu Bisik
The team assessed the proposed sites and prepared spot maps as part of the ESMP exercise. Short interactions were also held with the respective landowners to understand their views and concerns regarding the proposed interventions.
The session provided an opportunity for the technical, social, and environmental teams to jointly assess the proposed sites and ensure that the interventions are planned with due consideration to environmental safeguards, social concerns, landowner perspectives, and community benefits.
