Joint Site Verification and Inspection under the MegARISE Project
A joint site verification and inspection was conducted on 8th November 2025 by the CMU staff in collaboration with the Water Resources Department, led by Sir Wahlang, SE, Water Resources Department, along with the SPMU Engineer. The primary objective of the visit was to assess potential sites for the implementation of Soil and Water Conservation (SWC) activities in the villages under the MegARISE Project. The visit began with an introductory session and discussion with local community members, after which the team proceeded to carry out a detailed field inspection. The inspection covered several proposed intervention sites, including the spring chamber, farm pond, minor irrigation check dam, and irrigation canal.

The team then proceeded to Marbaniang Village, where the proposed works include the construction of a loose boulder wall/retaining wall and an irrigation canal. These structures are designed to prevent soil erosion and facilitate effective irrigation for agricultural lands.
