On 24th March 2026, strong community participation was observed in Smit village during the FPA 1, 2, and 3 activities conducted by the Umiew CMU Team.
In FPA 1, a total of 25 participants showcased their creativity through drawings expressing their vision for nature, while 7 participants took part in storytelling.
FPA 2 saw 7 participants presenting sustainable livelihood ideas such as food processing, a computer training centre, fisheries, and a tailoring training centre.
In FPA 3, 4 participants shared proposals focusing on activities like spring chamber construction, plantation, and check dams for water conservation.
Awards were presented to the best ideas. In FPA 2, the winners were:
1st – Food processing (juices and jam)
2nd – Fishery pond
3rd – Tailoring centre
In FPA 3, the winners were:
1st – Spring shed development
2nd – Rainwater harvesting
3rd – Plantation on community land
