The Umiew CMU team successfully conducted FPA Contest 2 (with 8 participants) and FPA Contest 3 (with 7 participants) at Pomlakrai Umiew VPIC under Mylliem C&RD Block on March 17, 2026. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, particularly from women and youth of the local community.

Key Highlights

Focus on Sustainable Livelihoods:
Participants presented innovative ideas aimed at developing stable and sustainable livelihoods, with a strong emphasis on optimizing farm-based activities despite limited land availability.

Identification of Urgent SWC Needs:
During FPA Contest 3, participants highlighted critical requirements for Soil and Water Conservation (SWC) interventions. These included the construction of check dams, filtration systems for washing ponds, retaining walls, and washing platforms for vegetables, along with irrigation support for agricultural land.
